I have been looking for an old box that I had as a kid that had some old coins in it. It took me three days to find it. I don't think I've looked inside for over 30 years. There were a couple of silver quarters, 2 silver half dollars, a 1910 Mercury dime, a couple dozen wheat pennies and two Indian Head pennies. One penny was a 1903, and the other, in much better condition, was an 1879.
Some quick research on the internet indicated the 1879 might have some value. I've attached a couple of photos below. It is my first time shooting in macro mode, so forgive me if part of the images are out of focus.
Can anyone tell me what type of condition this coin might be graded at and an approximate value? Any help would be appreciated.
Edited to add: There is a piece of lint or thread near the 9 on the date that extends to the "A" in America; that is not a scratch.
