Anyone know what this could be?

It's not very big. It's 1.5 "x 1.25" x .25". It obviously slides on to something cause the top is rolled in on the back to prevent it from sliding further. Any ideas? I can't get anything out of that little square on the front.

it is in fact a belt buckle. its missing a piece or 2 but the main part is what I have. thanks everyone =)
