Anyone know what this is very heavy with crochet like hook at end

A little bigger than a reg size Bic lighter with a crochet like hook at end and letter A on top. Appreciate any help thanks!! :-)

I think that you have a sail makers tool called a pricker. Yours having the hook would have been used to grab the thread once poked through the matrial. HH

A prickler doesn't have a hook on the end.

Liiks more like a finishing crochet hook for tying off the ends of crochet work or a rug hook.

It is very heavy though so I would think if it were used for tying off something made it would be something pretty heavy duty!

Was thinking Leather working tool , Then You said it was Sterling , So Possibly it was a Medical/ Dental tool of some kind ? Just My Thought

That's def a good guess but the knob on that is large where the one on mine u could really barely call a knob its much smaller on the end. Closer to the size of a steel letter punch
