🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Anyway to tell if this is a pewter fragment?

It rang up 68 on my AT Max, so in the brass and up range. Has weight to it but doesn't feel heavy enough to be lead. Found it on the edge of an old farm field. No known activity at this place other than some 1700's dwellings in the larger area.

Any help would be appreciated!

It does look like iron. See if a magnet sticks.

Unless it's heavily alloyed with something, I don't think it's iron. I tried 2 different magnets and they did not stick.

Also, I read that if iron is heated up to an extremely high temperature (Curie Point) it loses its ability to be magnetized.
