APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

A "Dream Box" constitutes 100+ keepers per box. I have not seen anyone post a "DB" in a very long time. The most culled from this side of the tracks was around 70 (that was Mr. Apush last year). Are they gone? I do hope we see a loaded box before the New Year.

What is a dream dime box? 50? My best was 12--long way from that dream!

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

i do like getting good amounts of silver but i would also say a box with a lot of variety could be a dream box. like multi national coins in the amounts of 50 +

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

My 146 walkers were from one only box on DEC 5TH, 2011.

Im pretty sure a dream box is 1-2 for Phoenix. No not 12...1 to 2.

I would literally crap my pants if I even found one silver half dollar in a box out here.

Wish I was in NY and could drop my 9K twice a week on half boxes.

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

My best this month was 26 from one box. And I would take that and run if I could do that every week.

A dream box for me consisted of 25 silvers, I got so happy with that. :tongue3:

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

Hi apush,

I think more and more we are seeing dream scores from CWRs rather than dream boxes. I have had a couple of dream scores this year: 123 silvers in one batch of CWRs: [21] '64s and [102] 40%ers and 150 silvers in another batch of CWRs just a couple of weeks ago: [1] WL, [5] Bens, [37] '64s, and [107] 40%ers (which I haven't written about until this post). I've read of a few dream boxes this year but much more often the good stuff gets cut off at the pass by one of us before it even makes it into the boxes! I don't think they are gone, just fewer and far between; and yes, I have a very good feeling you'll find a nice batch of Ag before January 1st! :icon_sunny:

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

Well, back a few years ago we were pulling boxes with over 100 silvers in them on occassion and they were called dream boxes. Now I would say 100+ is extraordinary. Anything over 50 per box would probably be classifed as a dream now a days with everyone searching. Now my Father pulled 10 almost uncirculated Bens and Walkers from a box recently. I do not know what that would be classified as. The dream boxes are out there but it is like playing the lottery. I see guys having to haul 10-15 boxes of halves to pull numbers even anywhere close to dream amount.

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

Apush , Merry Christmas ! Where are the dream boxes ? Well... it is an interesting question ,my
best scores with half dollars , did not come from boxes - from two $1000 bags, I pulled 52 keepers
(aprox. $250 worth of silver at the time -2years ago ) in the last 2 years I also have scored 2 solid
rolls of 1964 Kennedy's - and a few rolls of 40%ers- . I think a very honest answer to your question
has a lot to do with a big unknown -- the relationship between the silver being pulled from boxes , and
the resupply of silver fed quite randomly- back into the coin counters by the unknowing/uncaring .
This resupply factor is in my opinion - " the great unknown" in all of coin roll hunting - It is for this
factor alone , that I consider CRH-ing , to be a truly random game . What say you ? Argentium.

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

I had a dream box about two weeks ago around 118 pieces or so. Since then I have been finding 3 or so per box.

or so, right.

Sorry for my speculation but I'm sure most people here can understand "or so" with no post or pic.

My best box is 40 silver, best single score was 3 solid rolls (7x90 , 53x40)

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

APUSH, I have never found a Dream Box even when I lived in "East Coast Box Heaven". However, I did average 30+ silvers a box back then with a very good ratio of 90% to 40%. The best box I ever got had about 55 or 60 keepers. That was before I really kept track. I did like getting boxes like that consistently, and I think I only got one skunk out of over 50 boxes in those days. I should have done more, but didn't know how good I had it. You should have seen my shock to move to the Midwest and order my two boxes expecting the same results.... pulled one 40%. Oh well, I still get some OK boxes here, just not the same, my best box here had 12 silvers I think...

As far as dream scores, I've had several CWR dream scores including solid rolls of 90%, 40%, and recently dimes. I have also been able to buy bags off the machines here, and they bring between 30 to 60 or more keepers. Just have to know what the patterns are where you live and figure them out. It's sure fun to hunt silver. That's all I know!

Every area is different. Perhaps your employer can send you to on a trip to NYC and you can do sample the goods to see whether dream boxes do exist out there. I just remember that you mentioned going on a lot of out of town places for work, why not try to line up a trip to the land of silver? ;D

Re: APUSH: Where are the "Dream Boxes?"

when I go on business trips I just do a little road trip style hunting if there is time.

However, I would much rather be drinking cocktails, eating seafood towers, & medium rare ribeyes with cabernet vs. CRHing when I am on business trips.
