Archery medal. How old is it and from what organization? Any ideas?

Hi All,

I found this archery medal on a closet floor of an abandoned house that I had permission to search inside and out. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I believe that it is made of nickel or a nickel alloy of some sort. I forgot a size reference for the pic but it is slightly larger than a US Quarter, not counting the loop on top. The only thing on the back is ITALY stamped on the bottom. One local person thought it was Boy Scout related but I could not find anything online that resembled it.

It looks like late 1950' early '60's to me based on the style of dress and hair of the man.
