Welcome Arlene to Tnet! I remember the # 70, I must admit that it has not made much of a difference in my life, well some.
Do you have a detector? What type of treasure hunting do you do? Let's start with Coinstar machines, coin roll hunting, checking for old bottles at "at home burning/garbage pits and just keeping your eyes open as you walk along.
I really started detecting in 1976 with an old but good White's and I've been using White's ever since. As I enjoy backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California
I also purchased a gold pan or two and even found some Au. I tried backpacking this year in September however there were Ton's of ripe Berries so there were bears in the area which complicated things. When I realized I'd been standing 3' to 5' from a bear that had been sleeping in a bush I decided that any further hiking in this rugged area would have to wait till later.
Further back packing also turned out to be a poor choice so I chose to leave while I still could.
Finding "stuff" can be exciting , it takes some knowledge and going out and trying in all types of weather and it takes some equipment though the basic tools are inexpensive and a few can be made by hand. There is a great deal of information on Tent, some for the looking and some for the asking. Please do both and enjoy yourself!..........63bkpkr
