While many Americans have speculated about Pres. Obama’s intention to take firearms away from citizens, a Second Amendment proponent put the debate into amazing perspective.
Aaron Weiss, an Army veteran and police officer spoke at New York’s Dutchess County Legislature meeting in support of Americans’ Second Amendment Rights and to repeal the Safe Act.
Weiss notes that the gun control legislation, which people have called “courageous,” is indeed, cowardly. He condemned lawmakers’ for passing the gun control measures in a backroom deal in the middle of the night, without allowing for public comment first.
Weiss teared up as he exclaimed that he “fought for his [Second Amendment] right first-hand” and that people should be ashamed to stand on the graves of dead children to push their gun control agenda.
“I earned [my right] in blood,” Weiss said emotionally. “I gave up my youth and better men than me gave up a whole lot more so that all you, myself included, could enjoy our rights guaranteed to us in our Constitution and Bill of Rights,” he added.
Weiss’ courageous speech was one of the best statements regarding gun rights we’ve heard in a long time.
