Hello Native American artifact experts!
I'm posting these two pictures for one of our fellow members (Scolino) who is out in the field right now (while I sit at a computer).

Can any of you experts share some information on the arrowhead? I don't know much about arrowheads. Can you identify the age and the tribe by the construction & material?

And is the second item pictured a kettle point? It looks broader than the more pointy kettle points I've seen pictures of.

Thanks in advance!

- Brian

The stone point Id depends on where it was found, my area Id call it a Dickson around 2,000 years old. As far as assigning a tribe, thatā€™s not likely especially as you move back in time. Unless an artifact is very recent they are usually just grouped by tool form.

The other piece I donā€™t think is a trade metal point. Iā€™ve not seen one shaped like that, canā€™t imagine it would fly well or penetrate much.

The small holed piece could of been a an adornment of sorts.
Similar ones were of silver and there were brass/copper ones as well.
Here is a Seneca Chief 1796, notice the adornment shapes.

Thanks pepperj. Scolino found this other reference that leads him to believe that his brass piece may be an adornment, like you suggested. Although it could just beā€¦a piece of brass with a hole.

Although it could just beā€¦a piece of brass with a hole. ain't that the truth!
Though if digging pre1850 era stuff only.
There's a history of trade, or settlement of tribes.
Why wouldn't there be kettle adornments?
Then again we all have thought something was something till reality stuck us back to earth.
