Very sweet arrowhead. Would love to find one some day.

Wow Marty that's cool! I've not found my first yet.
Congrats!

Cool arrowhead, I am a avid arrowhead hunter/MD. Being that the arrow is from Al I would have to say that it is most likely a Dalton, the base and the lower sides where it was hafted on to the arrow are normally ground smoother than the other edges. The easiest way is to lightly rub it on your lip as if you were trying to cut it. Your lip is more sensitive to the touch than your fingers. This arrow dates back to early Paleo time approx 9500 yrs old.

I would see if you can find more. There is probably a small camp that use to be on the river/creek before it was a lake.

thanks ssehunter i had someone else also suggest it may be a dalton but i just tried the "lip" trick and you are right it IS smoother around the bottom......i went back down there yesterday MDing hoping to maybe scoop another point but no such luck....all i found was 3 pennies 5 or 6 lead weights, a couple hooks and leeches on my feet so i probably won't go back lol.....thanks again for the identification

That's a great arrow head,I still have not found a stone one. I have found a bronze and some copper Indian arrow heads. WTG!

AWSOME! I keep looking when I'm out too but haven't found any yet.
It's amazing that we get all still get excited over a 150 yr old coin when points date back thousands of years! Very cool!
