Hi forum, I look forward to joining this forum. I inherited a nice collection of arrowheads from my Uncle and Father. From what I understand most are from NYS where they grew up. I have had some identified but just found some others that were seperated .
So step by step I am trying to learn about the arrowheads and tools.
I am hoping the forum can help me with this one. I dont know what to ask so thanks for any information anyone can share.

welcome wek,it looks like a preform to me,to be made later to a point or knife, part of their tool kit

I forgot to mention there seems to be a red stamp maybe handwritten in red on it. I have no idea why.

old collectors label...

Welcome Wek! :hello:
It is fun to discover what you have. Most arrowheads are knifes. A real arrowhead is small to go on a shaft with a bow. Some points or arrowheads are larger and used on an atlatl. I would say yours is a tool. A blade made for cutting and scrapping when worn out discarded if the material did not warrant re sharpening or maybe material was abundant. Long winded but welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I say your item is a preform.

Can we see some more of your inherited artifacts?

I agree with preform. And I too would love to see more of what you inherited!
And of course, welcome to the artifacts forum at T-Net! We're a good bunch of arti-maniacs ;) Yakker

Thankyou for the warm welcome. Happy to post some more photos. I had a local man look at them and he organized some of the ones he felt were nicer ones. them However as you will see many are still in the boxes. Here are some of them. I will have to get a photo on of the who thing . Thanks, I look forward to your input .

Some nice ones. A lot of walking and bending for those.

I see some good ones in the box. Tony

You have some really nice points in your collection, but you really need to have those points in the boxes put into frames so they aren't damaged by hitting each other.

Like Old Digger said please take them out of the box.:laughing7: Great collection:thumbsup:

WOW!!
You have some really nice ones there... all of whatever they are...looks like some of everything!
Those should be easy to display on a wall hanging... very nice!

Thanks . Will get the rest in frames..

Nice collection
