I was enjoying my extra long New Years vacation when I found a local ad for some stereo equipment I wanted to check into and possibly purchase.
Once I arrived, I entered a home that was absolutely filled with all kinds of wonderful things (art, glassware, sculpture, bronzes, sterling, etc...) it was quite disorganized but I was able to buy a few things and have permission to come back for more as they do a purge/clean out.
The pictures I’ve attached are some of the art pieces I liked and want to buy. My girlfriends uncle is a dealer and appraiser but even he was stumped with the 2 signatures I sent so I’m hoping everybody here can dig up something.
For those who can’t see them, here is what I think they read
Plain aire - Lena Badgett
City street - Bolladamos
The Picasso poster is a print/gouache/litho? but I can’t figure out if it was a poster or commissioned piece for something. It has some silverfish damage/staining but still a neat item to see.
There also was a nude portrait of a woman, perhaps a watercolor accented with charcoal pencil with B. Schweikart 89 in the corner. That also pulled up no results.
Either I’m horrible researching art or these are all done by no name artists.
The real sad part of the whole affair is the best work in the home was done by the owners mother and they aren’t for sale. Each piece is fantastic and she trained under some very, very talented Art Institute instructors when she attended school.
