Well, this past Friday I found my first US sword belt plate and most of the leather belt, this item was found just beside it. Anyone can help me ID what this is? Thank you very much. It's just under 3 inches long

Kinda looks like one of those thumb screws used on a string instrument to tune said string

Not hollow, for some reason I woke up this morning thinking Civil War tourniquet screw and I did a little research and found this. This may be a type of tourniquet screw for amputating limbs or to stop severe bleeding. What do you all think.

These would have 2 sets of threads going to different directions so when they turned it it would create like a vise to stop bleeding.
Also here is another pic.

It's for tensioning something. Similar to a tuning peg.

It's a good idea but the lmited amount of threads leaves me thinking it's something else. Anythings possible though, i'm no authority on the subject.

I can see the resemblance to a tourniquet screw, bu none of the ones i find look quite like it with the large reverse threads.

That is a hood latch off of a circa 1956 John Deere tractor.

Where did RvaDiggn go? Seems odd to me that people post something for IDs and then simply disappear ..What's the point?
