All Treasure Hunting
Hi...my wife and I were arrowhead hunting across the Ohio River in South Portsmouth, Kentucky the past few days in an area that I remember as a kid hunting for arrowheads. She was digging through a soft eroded bank at the base of a tree with the roots exposed. She found this item, and was immediately taken by it. It is obviously not natural. Wanted to know if anyone might be able to shed some light on this item. Thanks in advance for your time. FB_IMG_1499956356995.webp

Looks natural to me as well....

Thinking it may be char...but looks too perfect. Seems to me that char would be more random. Plus...the way the stone is cut around the contour of the circle. I personally think the circle was painted on.

It is stone. I can get pics. Later on. Thanks!!!

Still looks natural.

I believe it's an iron concretion or small iron nodule in ancient sandstone.? It's a natural formation.
