"As Long As It's Not Like 15 or 20 Boxes"
Semi-long story/short version doing some bank shopping for non-CRH reasons (CU closed their local branch/dropped rates waaaaay down/trying hard to stay afloat, etc) and stopped at the local USBank. After the usual questions one asks when considering a new bank I told him I'm a collector and asked if they could order boxes, bags or rolls of coin. His reply?
"Sure, as long as it's not like 15 or 20 boxes at a time." My lovely bride quickly assured him that it would be perhaps 4 boxes at a time, per week. He then said they had "others" they order for, apparently recalling that some were pushing the envelope with their orders. He only cautioned that they can't order Ikes "because our coin all comes from the Mint." He did specifically mention halves bit I was quick to assure him that I hunt any and all coins and denominations, which is entirely true. I told him about finding a 1964 FDR the other day, which being silver was worth somewhere around $2.20, but numistically the value was between $2.50 and $8.00, and that I could not justify sending to have melted down such a nice piece when it would find a nice home in my collection.
I couldn't dump there because they don't have a coin counter but they'll happily sell to me. Plenty of casinos with free coin counting around here so I don't have the problem with dumping that others do save for those places with a $500/day coin limit.
With what he said as well as other considerations (new account enticements, etc) methinks they might have a new customer by the end of the week.
