As "Luck" Would Have It...

The first thing I dug out of a local school lawn was the good luck penny token. Then came the kiddie bling, including a cloisonne flower button, a plated "My Precious" ring, and a plated wing earring. I plucked over $10.00 in clad, and was getting tired in the heat. Towards the end of the hunt, Julio blurted out a sharp mid-tone and good ol' 46 on the VDI. I thought, " This can't be happening again,...third time this month?" Sure enough, there was a marked 14K gold ring just barely under the grass. Stone is missing but the ring is solid. I'll take it. Julio is really earning his paycheck this month! I think I will hang this lucky penny token on my pouch... Happy Hunting to all of my TNet friends! Sub

Nice finds Sub. I found one of those elongated pennies last week, but mine did not have any writing on it. It did have some of the dots. I dont think the person knew how to use the machine. Like the ring also.

Thank you for the words of encouragement, my friends. As you "land diggers" know all too well, finding gold is a rarity. For me to find three gold rings in 2 1/2 weeks is mind blowing! Mvgirl, I have noticed that my machine "Chirps" a solid, repeatable audible tone and holds to a VDI number from any direction on the gold items, unlike the can-slaw with a similar VDI, which will sound scratchy, or jump around a bit. Practice makes perfect. Congrats on finding the 14K on the soccer pitch! I have found some of my BEST jewelry on the soccer fields around here. Cheers, Sub
