Ascension Island an island of extremes

Sometimes I get the opportunity to travel to Ascension Island, in the south Atlantic. I will be going there in early July and staying for about 3 weeks. Just thought I would post some pictures for those of you who may not be familair with Ascension.

merchant marine or military or egghead types ---other than that not too many folks get to go there heard they just started letting normal folks go there recently----the deep sea fishing around there is great by the way---Ivan

Ivan,
You are right about the fishing. You can catch 5 pound grouper right off the rocks, with a handline. ( A very heavy, handline mind you ). Tuna is abundant also in deeper waters as well as Wahoo.
