OR.. is it an excuse to raise the price of Lumber ?

State officials are claiming it could attack and kill several species of trees. The only way to control the beetle is to destroy infested trees.

That's why we here in Vt. have banned the import of firewood by camper's. Inspections and capture traps have been place to ascertain any invasion by this forest pest...gary
 

There's also the problem with that green ash bore bug. They were going after the ash trees. When i was still a logger we couldn't cut ash trees bc they were not allowed to leave the county they were in.

Gary, importing firewood is banned here in PA too, but I don't think it will help that much. Maybe delay what is inevitable. I lost my only ash tree to the borer :( - Sharon
