I don't know how much this helps. Toroku is Registration, as in registering something with a government office. The other word might be a name. Could be Y. Isho.

I think I understand the other side. It's simply a sort of perpetual calendar. The five points point to the eighth number after the previous point, so you can set one point on the date of any day of the week and find the date of the same weekday for the whole month.

Maybe it's a company giveaway trinket. Maybe for a company called Yisho Incorporated or Registered.

day of the month counter--- you set it via the fist day of the first day of the monrh --then by checking it you can see that the 31st of the month will be (mon, tues, wed ,ect) --- day of the week .

The Japanese characters do say Yisho Toroku, which means registered name, like a patent. I tried to search for patent No 1485, but nothing. Seems a very low number for a patent. Clueless as to the front - as suggested sounds like the days of the month.

If it is Japanese, wouldnt the numbers also be written in Japanese? What does it say above 1485?
