Garrett AT Pro

In my opinion they are very worth while, it makes your recovery much faster, and your hole much smaller and cleaner......

I owned several but settled on the Detectorpro Uni probe because it is so much more vesatile, it is adjustible to 6 inches, my detector plugs into the headset so probe and detector share the same headset. Because it will detect so deep I can pinpoint my target and recover it through very small holes which allows me to hunt parks and areas I might not be able to otherwise...

Here is a link for it just to check out.....It isn't cheap put worth its weight in gold since it will allow you to hunt using just the probe, you can hunt under metal bleachers, and around metal playground equipment where you cant use a detector..... Just one find paid for mine, found a nice gold NYC police badge charm using it, melt down value was almost $300

Find your treasure accurately with UniProbe by DetectorPro

The Detectorpro pocket probe is the same probe but does not come with a headphones.... I use to own it as well, if you cant afford the uniprobe look for the pocket probe.... Used one was for sale here in the classifieds a few weeks ago, it may still be available...

I’ll go along with what treasure hunter said, but I use the Garrett Pro Pin Pointer.

I like the depth on the pro pointer (about 2 inches).

For me, what is the use of a pin pointer that reads 6 inches deep. The ideal is to pin point the target. I do see where a 6 inch pin pointer would have it’s uses, but for me I want to zero in on the target as fast as possible and do as little digging.

Purpose of the 6inch depth is not all targers are less than 6 inches deep, the uniprobe sensitivity is adjustible between 1/2 inch and 6 inches...... I pinpoint with my detector, then use the uniprobe to get the exact location, most of my recovery holes are less that 2 incehs wide, do damage to the grass no visibility I was ever there when I leave.....That is a major advantage wthen hunting city parks...

Thanks Treasure Hunter & Cactus Rat,

I will make a run to the store where I bought my AT Pro and pick one up.

Your advice is appreciated.

Patrick

I have had most of the pp out there. Have the harbor freight, the fisher, the Garrett, the Detectorpro and the Sunray.
My classification starting with the best and ending with the worst is:
Sunray probe
Detectorpro pistol probe
Garrett
Harbor freight
Fisher

I still have them just ended up selling the Garrett

Hi Norbyx,

That begs another question. Is any equipment from Harbor Freight worth it? I have bought things there a few time and found them to be cheap. I bought a router there once that couldnt cut plastic.

I don't mind spending a few extra dollars. I have found that buying good equipment is always better than buying cheap.

Thanks for the rating on the equipment. You are very much appreciated.

The HF pin pointer is not a bad product at all. Only problem it seems to have is the power switch, but it can be easily fixed with some sand paper. I bought it as a backup and not as my main pin-pointer that's for sure.

I just got back from the local TH supply store. They had to choices for a pin pointer. They had Garrett and Whites. The Whites seemed glitchy with the sensitivity switch.

I opted for the Garrett brand.

Yeah Garrett is better than the whites.

Yes!!.I went for many years without one so i got the detector pro pistol probe. You will have to research. The pistol is powerful. It is basically the headhunter pulse in your hand.
