Assayer's Scale !!!

I stopped at a large thirft store down in the big city , and found this Denver Fire Clay Co Assayers Scale in just FANTASTIC condition . I spent a total with tax of $21.59 !! it was sitting on top of the jewelry counter , walked right by it and didn't see it until I was headed to the register , I have had some great luck at the thrift stores and fleamarkets lately , hope it keeps up ! HH

There is a company in canon city that is called DFC too. Nice scale, I believe it weighs in milligrams. Each milligram represents an an ozt. per ton in a fire assay.

Jimdon, it was unbelievable,I used to run an antique store in a mining town whenever the owner was out of town ,quite a few went through that shop,I'm still having a little trouble believing it !

Thanks for all the replies ! I see some killer jewelry finds on here ,the stores I hit have not any thing good ,but the scale was on top of the jewelry case Carl hope all is well down there ! The fire clay co burned down in 1937 and I believe that was it, so my best guess is 1920 to 1937 here are some more pics. HH
