I will be in Northern California for a couple months, and wanted to try to hunt for gold nuggets. Can anyone give me some advice on a setting on the AT Max that could get me at a good starting point? Really appreciate your help! Thank you!! I have the Garrett orange pin pointer. How well would this work running it through some crevices or gravel in my gold pan?

Hi Danny. I hate to tell you that your machine is next to useless for gold nuggets. It operates at 13.6 kHz, which is too low for nuggetshooting. If the nugget is 4-5grams or larger you might hit it, but those nuggets are hard to get a coil over. I would look into some panning. :occasion14:

Thank you so much for getting back to me! Definitely not the best news, but I appreciate it. I have the Garrett orange pin pointer. How well would that work for gold nuggets, for running it through some crevices or even some gravel in my gold pan? Thank you again!!
