Been frustrated lately, been hitting it pretty hard, trying to learn my new machine. Thought about hanging it up for the season I was so frustrated. But I go with my brother and he keeps me motivated.

The PRO mode is a complex animal. Bottle caps are a sunofagun, but I am learning the sound of them. I can "call" them before I dig them most of the time but I still get fooled. One of the areas I hunt is an old campground, tons of old coins have come out of this place but it is LOADED with iron and steel bottle caps. Ive prolly dug 100 or so of them so far. So it gets rough some days.

Anyways, today we were doing a section of the woods around the campground. There is an old path over grown but still visible. I got one sweet sounding blip at about 4 inches, 1941 wheat cent. 15 feet away, another very crisp clean blip 5 inches down, 1909 wheat cent.

I was frustrated because I was not finding much, I was thinking my detector was defective, blah blah blah, but i realized when I heard those 2 copper coins that I need to get the damn coil over stuff. If it is there, I know now for sure the AT PRO will seek it out. Sad part is I have been detecting for a long time and some how I lost sight of that fact.

So a few boring wheat cents, didnt bother to take pictures of them but I re-learned something I should have not forgotten haha.
