AT Pro and earbuds? What will I need?

Yes, I realize it won't be waterproof to 10' any longer, but it will sure be cooler and lighter for summer hunting! I see there is an adapter available from Garrett, then I can get another adapter for the smaller size jack for the buds? Then perhaps even an in-line volume control? I did the same sort of thing for my Tesoro. Is there any reason this won't work well? Am I missing anything? Thanks for any advice on this....

Nope, that's everything.
1) Garrett AT headphone adapter
2) 1/4 to 1/8 stereo plug adapter or 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter.
3) an inline volume control ( it also keeps the AT-Pro's speaker from sounding off when the earbuds are connected.)

Need help with Garrett at pro. I want to go with ear buds bought Garrett adapter Koss vc-20 inline volume control 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. just external sound none to ear buds. Tried stereo male to stereo female, mono male to stereo female adapter, still just external speaker. Even tired RS inline volume control, still no luck. Any other suggestions?

I don't know why your setup doesn't work?

The setup that I have on my AT-Pro that works is:

1) Garrett adapter

2) Radio Shack 1/4-1/8 stereo plug adaptor

3) Koss VC/20 remote volume control 1/4

The only thing I can think of is try a different set of headphones or earbuds.
Maybe do a reset on the AT-Pro.

I have the garrett adapter and a set of inline volume controlled earbuds by radio shack and contol works fine. If you look at specs for the garrett adapter the call for a earbud or headphone with an certain amount of ohm resistance. That might be why yours aren't working
