Hi, still trying to decide on F44 and ATP.:BangHead:
Is the AT Pro designed to HIP mount the box?
Are headphones available with volume control.
Even tough I'm primarily a Fisher Guy, the ATP is looking pretty good.:laughing7:
Thanks, Marvin:coffee2:

The AT PRO is a fairly light weight shaft mounted machine. It weighs 3.3 lbs., and even less if you switch the stock coil, (11 X 8) for the (5 X 8). The 5 X 8 is an excellent choice when hunting in trashy parks.
I imagine it could be hip mounted but it would be difficult to read the Screen. The AT PRO when used in fresh water becomes a beep and scoop machine if you are wading deeper than waist deep water. Depending on the clarity of the water, it can become difficult to read the screen. But don't worry about the screen in water, dig everything.
You should know that if you are going to take the machine into FRESH water, you should coat the 3 "O" rings with a coating of silicone grease. You can pick up a small tin in any dive shop.
The "O" rings are located on the head phone connection, the coil connection, and the door to the battery compartment.
I know for a fact that the AT PRO is a very capable machine. It will find gold, silver, and loads of clad. My PRO paid for itself, (just clad), in 18 months. During that time, it also produced 50 silver coins, silver jewelry, and 5 gold rings. Good luck with your decision and Happy hunting

Volume control headphones are available for the At-pro. I have no clue as to the bells and whistles on the F-44. Does he need a water machine? The At-Pro has no back light. Does he want one to hunt at night? Any clubs in your area so you can talk to users of either machine?

No need for a water machine--------------coil only goes into the water.
No night hunting---------no backlit screen needed.
No club within 75 miles-----------------------I'm a loner.
Thanks all for the info--------------I got it covered from here.
