Congrats on finding your oldest coin ever ! :icon_thumright:

Looks like it could be a King George Half Penny or maybe a State Copper.
If it was mine I'd use "Andre Pencils" on it to bring out more detail.

I agree with ATC. I can see a seated woman which is on the back of several coins of that date and some lettering around her. I think there is some detail hidden under the corrosion that would add to the ID information. The buttons are old, too, probably about as old as the coin. One plated and one spun tombac.

Thank you so much,I was so freaking out when it came out of the dirt.I was able to I'd it is a Connecticut copper.It really is amazing to find something that old.Thank you

I'm always confused over buttons, We're both flat and tom back buttons both used during that time period,I haven't found any of them the same as far as size goes,some small all the way to what I would think is ridiculous large, also very thin, almost ornamental? I truly appreciate everyone's ideas, history behind all items is just as fun as the find I believe.Thank you

I would love to clean it up a bit more for sure,I just am really nervous to damage it,but I believe I could definitely get some more details visible.
 

Hi everyone,I hope everyone is healthy and safe.I was able to get out today,and boy I'm glad I did found my oldest coin to date,and I can read the date lol most of times they are to corroded.Also a few more buttons,and something I don't know what it is.Any ideas are greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Thank you so much,I get so excited finding old items especially one like that.Then the hunt continues after find doing research and finding about the history of items is amazing.
