I have a few things that I need to take some pictures of. Things that have been in the family so long they have always been there. I have no idea when or where they were found. In the late 1800's my great grand parents moved to Calif. by train from Ohio, and settled well inland from where I was raised. The other half of my great great grand parents came to Calif., also from Ohio, by wagon train during the gold rush, and I doubt that they brought rocks with them. The ones that came by train might have, or my grandmother was quite a collector, maybe it's something she had from a source long unknown. Anyhow the photo below is one of those things that has been in the family before I was born. They all thought it was some sort of charm or ceremonial thing, but in later years, having seen atl atl's and read about them, I suspect that this was an atl atl weight. It's flat on one side so it would lay on the stick to be tied on. I didn't put anything in the photo for size comparison, but it's at least 4 inches long, going all the way across the palm of my hand. Any other ideas would be appericiated. I'll take some more photos and post the other stuff later.
