Lots of sterling vanity items only 3 pieces not marked sterling, likely just worn off. I've identified about half of them. The others I can't seem to find a lot. Went through the 925-1000 site for hallmarks. Total weight for all the marked sterling pieces is about 4 1/2 lbs, but there's glass and other things in the weight. That huge bracelet is almost 100g by itself of solid sterling. Only spent $117 for all the silver stuff. Sadly I missed a set that went for $150. It was a nice JE Caldwell hammered sterling vanity set with some other pieces. Also, be on the lookout for WM Rogers Charter Oak pattern. Couldn't get the set today. Its a hard to find one that generally runs $400+ for a good sized set and its all just silver plate. On the pot thingy, I think its majolica, but can't find it. The mark wasn't stamped on there well. It looks like A(or H)E L, and a T outside the square? There's a cool cigarette case by Hans Jensen, not sterling. Now for the questions. On some of the mirrors there's junk behind the mirror itself, one of the pictures shows it. Is there anyway to clean that up? The bigger mirror is faintly marked sterling then some 4 letters and k k. No clue who that might be, not sure if K K is even the maker mark. Then there's a brush with a 3 symbol sterling mark. Middle symbol is an anchor. I tried looking at Gorham's but it doesn't match. Then another brush with some weird letter mark. Looks like a combination of L T F. Then the comb is marked with what looks like an L. I think its La Pierre sterling? Last is a set of cobalt glass. Its super close design to an expensive Heisey glass pattern, but sizes are wrong and its unmarked. There's no other blue glass besides the Heisey glass that comes close to being a match. The bowl is about 12" long and 3 1/2" tall, and the cornucopia candle holders are about 5 1/4" tall. Anyway, thanks for any help or input you can give.

A piece of glass becomes a mirror by applying a silver coating to one side. That "junk behind the mirror" is probably the result of the coating coming off. I suppose that could be fixed but I doubt if it would be worth the cost.
