Winter fun :icon_thumright:

Lets see if there is any interest in authentic artifact by auction. If there is no interest I will be more then happy to keep it in my collection...

Auction will end at Midnight of Friday 01/15/2010, in other words the last bid before the first second of Saturday 1/16/2010.....

This is a nice Texas Pedernalis, 2.5 inches long, 1 5/16 wide tang to tang, 1/4 inch thick at the thickest point, nice flaking. Guaranteed 100% authentic. The very tiny tip of the right tang is missing.
(It can be seen best in first picture.)

Opening bid is $17.00, Shipping will be $1.50...........10% discount on winning bid if you are a Charter Member.

Fun :hello2: I like the discount as well

Re: Auction For A Nice Texas Pedernalis ....Opening Bid lowered.....

This is a very nice point, only 1/4 inch thick at the thickest point which is the very center of the point between the tangs where the shaft would attach, The edges of the 2 sides are sharp, no more then 1/32 inch thick...

Clock is ticking............Not seeing much interest :dontknow:, come Saturday it might have to go back in my collection with the other 16 Perds........

Tick Tock..............This is a nice Perd, Perds are 2000-6000 years old....

I guess there is no interest in quality authentic Texas point. :dontknow: Perd will go back in my collection.....

Sorry TH. I try to keep my stuff local. Very nice point and good price. Surprised no bidders :icon_scratch:

Yes, I agree. Nice piece and price but I also keep to stuff from my area. Its worth a lot more to me if its a personal find (nearly priceless), but the pieces I buy just don't mean much to me. I give those away to kids : )

I understand what you and TnM mean, I use to be that way till I became a hard core collector. My collection is also a form of investment, the increasing value of artifacts far exceeds many forms of investments now. I remember when you could buy large authentic dovetails for 1/5 Th of what they cost now.....I have built a small but very nice collection (IMO) that will only continue to increase in value as I add to it and the value of the artifacts increase.....

Take the waterbottle in my collection as an example, I paid $700 for the set, water bottle, iron axe and bowl when I bought them in 1995... I just turned down a $3500 offer for the water bottle alone in the last month, I turned down $750 on the axe with handle over 7 years ago.
