Detecting today and hit this coin with my XP Deus. Very tough shape, but a meaningful find.

Are you sure that's not a Connecticut copper (Auctori Connec)? The Auctori Plebis coppers tend to have a weaker strike on the face of the bust.

Still a great find either way!

Unsure. It’s pretty worn. Could very well be Conn.

To close the loop...I am able to make out that the coin is of the Connecticut variety. Unable to make out the date.

Congrats on the nice old copper. It may be in tough shape, but it's still better than most coppers I have found. Very interesting coin.
