I sold an item at auction that ended Sun. night. It was offered with free shipping. It sold for $152.50. Today I get a "payment total requested" from the buyer. He lives in Australia. I only use the Global shipping program for international shipping. I had and always have the box checked on my listing that says "no alternative shipping methods". When I try to send an invoice it mentions nothing about the GSP, and next to where it says shipping and handling it gives every shipping method there is other than the GSP. My question is why? Why, when I offer no alternative international shipping methods other than the GSP, am I getting a request for payment total to someone in Australia? They should not even have had any other choice of shipping to begin with other than the GSP? Anyone?

Hi diggummup , was the item listed with free international shipping or only free within the 48 states , I think the request maybe for the item sale price Plus shipping costs to Australia , that's how I would read it , good luck with getting it sorted ..cheers Mick

It was listed with free shipping period. International buyers get free shipping to the GSP (Pitney Bowes) center in Kentucky. When you sell internationally via the GSP, the free shipping is for point A my home to point B the GSP (Pitney Bowes) center in Kentucky. Pitney Bowes handles all of the international shipping costs from there with the buyer. The international buyer is privy to how much the shipping is going to cost him/her before they bid on an item. There should be no other option for this buyer to request. As previously stated, I don't offer any other international shipping methods other than the GSP. He should not have been able to request a payment total because he already had the information on the only shipping option available to him.

I have the same exact thing happened to me. I honestly think that it's someone here and I don't know if they add a second address to another country, or if they're registered in the US even though they're not. Luckily mine canceled their's. But there is someway that they're getting around that global shipping program. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do besides call eBay and explain to them, if you cancel the order I believe they can leave a negative but I'm not sure how people are getting around that global shipping program. If that really is the case...

Well I sent him an invoice for priority shipping in a small flat rate box last night. It was paid when I woke up this morning and I sent it off today. It was easy enough. I was able to print my label via ebay and I have a tracking number so I should be covered. I didn't want to have to deal with talking to Bob in Bombay for an hour on ebay cust. service.

Good result buddy , a happy buyer and a happy seller , my experience with buying US items ( around 300 ) USPS has always been the easiest , most cost effective and reliable..cheers Mick
