I found this a few days ago. Cleaned it up pretty good. No writing or markings on it.
It does appear to have bayonet lugs on it like what would be used for light sockets. Inside is an insulating disc. The odd thing that is throwing me is the spring loaded part on the side.
At first I thought it was a cigarette lighter socket but unsure now.
What's your thoughts?

I,ve seen one of those but my memory fails me as to where.I want to say part of a flashlight, but that,s a guess.I,ll file it in the recesses of my mind and maybe it,ll come to me about 3:00 in the morning.

If the slots are the same on both sides it is a socket for a single element bulb. If one slot is longer it is for a dual element bulb (turn, stop,or brake ) meaning newer?
