I have been wanting a 5x8 DD for my ATP for a while and finally got one. I go out with it and notice that the coil pinpoints at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions rather than the normal center hole in front of the shaft hinge. I called Garrett up, told them of the issue and the lady asked for the serial number of my ATP and then says I will have a new 5x8 coil out to you in the mail immediately, free of charge. I am really impressed at how they take care of their customers. No asking me to return my whacky coil or anything. if only the rest of the American companies would take the time to be so helpful. Im sure some will say well that's just giving stuff away without checking things out and I would have to agree because there are those who would be evil and abuse the service but it is nice to see some old fashioned decency.

That is really good news to my ears as I received a new AT Pro a few weeks ago and will be out next week for the first time!

Fisher use to be really good when it came to customer service.. I only hunt with a Fisher 1266x and they normally don't keep stock of replacement parts, so i really haven't contacted them for anything lately.. I remember in the late 1990s, when i dropped my new Fisher 1266x in a creek and couldn't get it back to work, i basically called them up crying and told me to mail it to them to fix it. About a week later UPS showed up and when i opened the box it was a brand new fisher 1266x at no charge and that is the machine i still use today.
