Ax manufactors name or ?

I cleaned up an ax head that I had found last winter and found the letters R. MAN stamped on the ax. Does anyone know if there was an ax company named R. MAN or possibly this could have been the owner of the ax.

Since it's stamped I would say the maker. If it had been hand etched probably the owners.

dont know, would think its the makers, have you done a search yet, so far no stamps on any of my axe heads yet, seems that there were a lot of local blacksmiths here

I tried to get a picture but my camera wouldn't focus close enough. They had to have been stamped when the ax was red hot and evenly spaced as if they were in a die and stamped as a unit and not individually.

Here is Manns axe factory. It does say R. Mann. Could be but has two n's.
