This is my 3rd, two pounder cannonball from the indian wars (1700's). Also stumbled onto a small dump site and picked up a few bottles. Fun day! :laughing7: Cannon ball no.3.webpNov 2016.webp

Great Relic hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

Excellent digs, looks like that cannonball will clean up nicely.

I cleaned up the cannonball and I found out what the unknown item is. It is part of a Furber's wooden well pump.

I found a little history on the Indian Wars. ( Cannonball used in Indian Wars 1700's)
Father Sebastian Rasles, French Jesuit priest, encouraged the Abenaki to defend their culture and lands against the New England colonists. 1722, Massachusetts governor Samuel Shuttle declared war on the Abenaki. This war is called Dummer’s War, Grey Lock’s War, Lovewell’s War, or Father Rasles’ War.
