Friday morning I took a road trip with my friend Dave to pick up his kids in East Wenatchee Washington. I've never even been close to that area in my life so I really was excited to go there and do some detecting!

Be fore we went I did my usually Craig's List posting requesting permission to detector the grounds around old houses & such. I only got a few leads.

First, I got to detect around a 1914 house in Dryden (about 15 miles west of Wenatchee) ~ then I drove to Waterville (about 25 miles north of Wenatchee) and detected around a 1920 house. Then after that I went aroung a 1930 house in Wenatchee. Here's what I dug:

1950/1951 WATERVILLE dog tax license tag
1936 LUCKY PIECE
1951-S Jefferson nickel
13 wheat cents ~ 27-S, 29-S, 35-S, 37-D, 38-S, 44-S X3, 46-S, 50-D, 53-S, 57-D, & 58-D
1940 & 1952 Canadian Cents
10 clad quarters
29 clad dimes
11 modern nickels
77 Memorial cents

The lucky piece is kinda interesting ~ it's a little bigger than a US quarter and made of bronze/copper. One side reads, "GOOD LUCK ~ WEALTH ~ HEALTH ~ HAPPINESS" - "THE USHER, VENICE, CAL. ~ COPYRIGHT 1936", and the other side reads, "LUCKY NUMBERS ~ 2 -1 -7- 6" - "ARIES" - "LUCKY DAY TUESDAY". . . . . . anyone know anything about this piece?

My favorite find of the weekend was the 1950 WATERVILLE DOG TAX tag. I took close-up pic's of the date ~ you can see the date was corrected ~ they stamped a "1" over the "0" in the date! Kinda cool!

The last picture is of an old abandoned school house made of brick that was out in the middle of NO-WHERE about 5 miles north of Waterville Washington. I detected around it for a little while but didn't gind much. Very cool looking! Sorry the pic isn't better ~ I took this pic with my cell phone.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Well, Congratulations on all those finds and also on your unique idea of posting on Craigs List. Does that usually work out for you? That is really thinking "outside the box" - Bravo!!
Happy Hunting!!

nice job on the finds! That 1936 token is really awesome! :) You won't find much old silver in Washington State but you will be finding tons of rings.

There's always next time.....

You would be suprised how long those old buildings can stay like that.

Paul

Did you go inside of it at all? That particular school is very unsafe, the closest wall in the picture has huge cracks going up both corners from top to bottom & is leaning outward. Did you happen to see the abandon farm in the wooded area out past the school?

Paul

Nice digs! Congrats!
