Went on a hunt yesterday and found a 1898 Barber quarter. Went out again this evening to a complete different property and found another 1898 Barber quarter. What are the odds of that. Lol
Started the day off at our Bed and Breakfast playing around in the pond. All we found besides pull tabs and fishing lead were a couple old buttons.
This evening after a 1/2 hr downpour I hit the property where I found my first seated 2 months ago. Started off finding a few wheats in the back yard and a lead headless horseman.
Moved around to the front and first found a 1956 Rosie. A couple minutes later and only inches from the front walk I get a 12:47 hit on the CTX. It was so close to the walk way that when I flipped a plug it was laying on the walk way. No need for the pin pointer after flipping the plug, see silver laying in the hole, 1898 barber quarter.
Back to back days and find two 1898 Barber quarters, how Sweet is that...

I found a 1 reale cob but have found 0 Barber quarters. Nice going

That is very sweet, and I really like the headless horseman! The only back to back Barber days I've ever had consisted of a cheap haircut on Friday and and a more expensive one on Saturday morning to correct the rookies mistakes!

love the barber quarters!, sadly haven't found any myself yet, great hunt!!

Congrats on the back to back barbers...:icon_thumleft:

You're lucky to get that rain. Great find, 1800's barber quarters are endangered. They have been successfully hunted by detectors for 60 years and are easy targets.

Congrats on that silver!

Steve

Now you're just showing off! Very nice DS. How will you top that?

I am a new member, seeing these posts really gets my blood flowing, my new Minlab 3030 should be here by Friday. I am so anxious to get out and find whatever, it's the thrill of the hunt!.

I don't know what the odds are, but I'd take them. Nice double on the Quarters.

Nice DS. Congrats on another quarter. The lead horseman is a nice find too.

Best of luck to you!

Nice going on the old silver, nothing better when it just falls out of the plug as if it's yelling "Here I am!".

Liking the headless horseman and the old tune by Bing Crosby 1949

Two consecutive days with barbers is way too many haircuts. But the coins are sure nice! Your decapitated WW1 US Doughboy Cavalry Officer is a cool find too. I bet there are more of his squad there. Sub 8-)

Congratz! Nice quarters!

Like the barber but the lead toy is cool!

The coolest thing I thought about the two barbers was the fact they both were minted in 1898. Not to often you find barber quarters then to find two from the same year in two complete different areas, thought that was pretty weird...

Nice looking Barber! Great save!!!!! :icon_thumleft:

Very cool that they're the same date! I haven't been able to go hunting for one month now due to work and this dig has inflamed my itch!

Just got minlab 3030 ctx need help. My detector came no software. And I'm a newbie to this detector. So if got some tips I Appreciate the help thank
