My nickel and cent excursion last night was fun, thanks for the feedback Immy, but give me halves anytime.
When looking at halves today, after the nickels and cents, it was like reading a billboard. Much easier on the eyes.
I stopped in a bank where I occasionally can get larger amounts of loose halves. They have $60 worth today and as I'm paying for them another teller (than the one I'm doing business with) mentions that she had looked through those a few days ago; and had taken all the silver ones out. The one's she says "that are all silver".
I bit my tongue, smiled, thanked my teller and walked outside.
To make a long story short, she must have not known that JFK has a silver streak, and had taken only Bens and earlier
(if there were any), for what she left behind for me was:
5 90% JFKs (64 & 64dx4)
2 40% JFKs (67 & 69d)
Seven keepers out of 120 halves; almost 6% keeper rate. A pretty good return, especially when you consider that they had already been picked over.
Picked up another box of halves, and $10 loose, to go through tomorrow; before closing the books on the month / quarter.
Don't forget to update HobBob's thread with your silver take for the month.
