Did another 2 hour combi-hunt this afternoon. Took the detector back to the ArrowHead Field but this time with old silver in mind. No such luck this time. I did find a tombac button which has the right age but it was a stray. 1947 nickle was the only coin but added a few more hide scrapers to the collection...I really like the clear quartz scraper...I'm hoping for a point made from this material.

Nice artifacts! At least you came away with a tombac in the metal department. That one field is making you a nice display case, with that 1690's coin as the centerpiece.

Your lucky to have a such a field close by... I imagine I have one fairly close but have to locate it first...

Hey.

Not too bad. A flat button and a cool Beaver nickel. ;D I don't find many of those.

Come on down...you let me hunt your cannonball sites and I'll fill you a display case with the stoney stuff!

I still have a few sites available holding one of your balls! :laughing9: seriously the potential is still there....are you grounded until spring??

So... looks like you're back to normal. (for now anyway)

Normal being a normal person, not you being you. :D

I tried doing a little arrowhead hunting this year, but I just collected myself a nice load of naturally broken quartz! I'm sure there's more out there; I got bored one night and figured out that one small field I have would require over 70KM of walking to grid the whole thing off, no wonder we miss stuff!

I think Ironhorse and I walk that on an average weekend hunt.

This thread was started before I found the second silver...
