Went back to my site today and managed to make a few decent finds and several items that need ID.
Ended up with a little bit of lead and brass.

Dug one or maybe 2 small lead seals. One looks like it has an MP on it, the other one that is more round and thick almost looks like it has a face design on it.

Also ended up with a tiny flat button with a Star or snowflake pattern.

A few lead balls. One is huge at .71". An old complete rimfire round, another bullet that is long and looks like a Minnie ball, but its only .42". Never seen a narrow bullet this long.

Also got a brass ring, an ornate drawer pull, and several suspender clips or tensioners, and a few pieces of china.

Went and did a little door knocking in the area afterwards. 3 people weren't home. 1 was busy, has a cheap detector, and will call us back when not so busy. 1 will talk to wife and call us. And 1 lady who was a little psychologically unstable.

Nice work PBR- would love to see a close up of the bullet and casing.
Thanks for taking an interest. Still trying to figure this new camera out and the Super Macro.
Just got the new Olympus TG-860 for Christmas.
The base of the casing measures .37", that's not including the flange. The flange is .43". The total length is 1.26"
The other bullet in the photo is .41" or .42" x .96"

You're still on the older spot. Although your earliest site has been settled over since the early days and you'll be seeing finds from then until today.
The lead discs are no doubt lead seals, the second pic looks older than the other(MP) I can't make out the design but it has the look of an older one to me.

Thanks Ironhorse. The finds are getting more scarce. Having to dig lots of low tones and iffy signals.
We tried to land another permission in the area today, but nothing for certain yet.
Im sure there is more there, just have to work a little harder now, with less to show for it.
Im not sure I have that one seal rotated correctly. At that angle it looks like a face, but the details are faint.

Nice finds,, looks like a lot of digging.
Wish getting new permissions was easier

Sure was a lot of digging, I don't take pics of all the melted lead, rusted nails, blobs of rust, and other junk.
2 maybes was actually better than I thought, as they seemed sincere, and I didn't expect much.
I wish it were easier too.

As long as you are digging non iron targets no matter what they are, you should keep going. I'd love to be out today walking around an old French site.... even digging low signals!

More nice digs. Congrats. :occasion14:

Very nice relic hunt! The old intact bullet/cartridges are a great find.
