We hit up the farm today while we still can. Bob was trying out his new 900. We squeaked a few things out. We got a MO tax token and an old Scovill's Waterbury button with lots of gilt left. It is one piece and does not have MFG or CO on it behind Scovill's. Could it be from the 1830s? If anyone knows what the pointy thing is above the tax token, we are very curious about that thing too. Also the lantern part had Holmes, Booth, Hayden's, and Atwood's on it. I can only find lanterns with 3 of the names? Curious about that too. Thanks for any info you may have. Keep swinging!!

Nice assortment of finds, liking the button.
The item that you need the ID, If it has a hole in it, then it's a valve stem and cap.

Excellent finds !

Some history:
Holmes, Hayden and Booth created the company in 1858. Among other products, they manufactured lamp burners according to certain patents of Lewis J. Atwood, and were known in the market as the “comet burner.” Atwood became a Director of the company in 1868 but in January of 1869 he 'defected' to create another company; the Plume and Atwood Manufacturing Company. Holes, etc. continue to manufacture burners using Atwood's patents.
Don in SoCal.

Thank you for the good info Macaydon! I guess if the patent belonged to Atwood they would have had to keep including his name? I am not to knowledgeable on patent law.

Thanks Pepper! It does look like it may have a hole on one end! I thought it may be too small for a valve stem.
