Loading up the pickup this morning to go digging, and couldn't find my lesche. Then I remembered I was at the park 2 days ago, and I must have left it there. I usually stick it in the ground, open the tailgate, put everything in, and close it. I think I forgot to turn around, it was probably behind me.:BangHead: Went there this morning, and alas, it was gone. R.I.P my friend.

Now I have to use his little brother. Will be buying a new lesche soon. His little brother, is to much work:laughing7:

Didn't have a bad day digging tho. First target was this token from a place about an hour and a half north of me. It closed down. I guess that makes it a collector's item:laughing7: DSCF1881.webpDSCF1882.webp

Hit a different part of the park where I thought people might have parked, and collected 30 clad, and a very first for me! A Ring! A junker, but it's my first. One off the bucket list!DSCF1877.webp

At the end of the day, I decided to go over to an area where they had dumped a bunch of fill, that was from a playground in town that was being rebuilt.DSCF1572.webp
They had brought in alot more sand and it was dumped where the sand is in the picture, and it was all leveled off. So I hunted just the sandy half, and pulled 5 wheats. '19,'20,2-'50, and 1-'52. Also got the 2 Hot Wheels from the sand.

If anyone know's what that buckle was used for, chime in please. I'm thinking maybe for a saddle:dontknow:P1000174.webpP1000175.webp

Hope you all got out this weekend! Thanks for looking! HH

232 clad, 14 wheats, 4 silver

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:

That is one large buckle!

Way to go! Nice trip and finds you had! Congrats!

Very nice hunt and good variety.
With 5 wheat pennies,, there may still be some silver around. Congratulations.

Sorry about your digger, congrats on your finds

Sorry to hear about your friend! I have not lost any of my equipment yet, but i can imagine what it's going to feel like when my turn comes. Hopefully you are able to find a new BFF!!

I left a shovel 40 miles away today. I wasn't hunting...just doing my job in the dark. But I called the guy and got permission to come retrieve it AND hunt his 250 acre farm!! I would KEEP hunting the "brought in dirt"!! A few years ago around here the EPA scraped all the yards down 10" because of it being a LEAD mining town. I didn't even need my detector for finding Silver/marbles/bottles/coins/etc after a good rain in the location they dumped it at. Sadly, it has all been covered up with 9 more feet of earth from other locations...it was good while it lasted..lol

That worked out well for you. That's one time you can thank the EPA!

Fill can be a good thing, but more often it's a death sentence to the treasure's below:unhappysmiley:

Looks like a nice variety. Sorry to hear about your shovel.
