Was able to get out today for a while. We went back to the Oil Boom town and decided to try the table sieve I built a while back. It worked great although after a 1/2 mile hike, I realized just how sturdy it was. ;D J/K

Monty was supposed to come over but unforseen circumstances prevented the trip this time. So I guess he was here in spirit as the 1st pic is of an unfortunately broken Mason jar but it was minted in Sand Springs, Oklahoma in 1915! :o

The other pics show a few of the bottles that were dug and some marbles that the sieve caught. There is also a brass valve key of some kind that showed as well as a spoon and a buckle. Since I was onsite please forgive all the dirt on the bottles. Thanks for looking.

Stoney,

nice batch of artifacts.

Remember when you were talking about building the
sieve with an old card table. Looks real good.

Nice photos of your finds.

So you pick up the dirty bottles also ;D

Real nice finds.

have a good un.............

What a great bunch of finds today, love the bottles and marbles and the little metal thing. ;D

Thanks guys. Didn't notice till I got home that I had another find. Felt something crawling on my neck, Yep, a dang tick. Guess we didn't get enough cold winter to get rid of 'em. Was hoping for a coin or two, but guess people don't intentionally throw them away. LOL

Stoney,

just noticed the solid green marble; is that
glass?

have a good un..........

Sherm, I believe it is. Some of the others are kinda different. If you look close, you might be able to see that one side is like an agate swirl and the other side is clear. 2 have a honey color clear side and another is lime jello clear color.
I'm not up on marbles enough to give any fancy names though. :-\

Oh man! Sorry I missed it! I have a 4-wheeler that could have carried all the tools out and saved some grief from you old guys! I really hated to miss that trip but look forward to it in the future? That jar bottom was made by Kerr Glass internationally known name in canning jars. The started or at least my uncle worked for them in 1905 and learned how to blow glass kerosene lantern globes! After lanterns went out of style and with the advent of electric and gas lights they turned to fruit jars. Exported them all over the world. They are now out of business, however the old plant is still there. Monty
