I had hoped Something would be on front of the button but it is to beat. The camp site and range sit on several homesteads so you never know what you may get. And I am not in the camp yet. Still puttering around the range. The bulk of the ammo today was WWI to modern but still got a few Spanish American mini balls. The WWI range seems to be everywhere. But the earlier stuff is mostly to one side. The 2 shells stuck together are S/A shells as they are bigger. I have no idea if the bell is military or farm stuff. But it is iron. I don't imagine buttons do well as soil eats copper for dinner as you can see on the older shells. Well at least I found something.

Cool stuff! Was the bell made to be hand-held or hung from an animal's collar? Sub 8-)

The bell looks very much like the Fishing bells you clip onto the rod tip to alert a strike - but I have never seen a Iron one.

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures with us
