I shared a posting last Saturday about an SLQ found near a modern church with the remains of an old homestead nearby. Went back today for a little while, found the usual assortment of wheaties and a pair of silver Washingtons in adjacent holes. A well-worn 1943 partnered with a 62D showing little wear, probably dropped together in the early to mid 60's. I haven't checked yet, but I suspect they'll fill two empty holes in my son's Washington collection. Yesterday, in a brief visit to the site, I found a buffalo with an actual date, 1936. So far, this spot has been berry berry good to me. Again, no pictures, but my beloved is talking in terms of a digital camera at Christmas.

That spot is definately doing very well for you. You should have a great collection by the time you get a camera.

Congratulations,

Rev

Nice finds...love that silver! Hey, could your "beloved" buy me a digital camera, too? No digital camera is the only reason I don't post my finds on TN...well, that and the fact that I don't find anything truly amazing all that often.....but I'd still like a digital camera for Christmas...PLEASE. ;)

Perhaps "digital cameras for all" will make the platform at the 2008 Presidential conventions, reminiscent of "a chicken in every pot." Given the nation's entitlement mentality, it wouldn't be a surprise. I failed to mention that yesterday's finds pushed me past the $200 face value plateau in just under 2 1/2 years; what a great hobby!

Halfdime, congratulations to you for reaching such a major milestone! WAY TO GO. It's amazing how much money our hobby puts back into circulation. For that reason alone our government should sing our praises and acknowledge the service we provide. Another service we provide is in digging up pieces of history and preserving those pieces for generations to come. Geez, some of the stuff posted on this forum is truly mind-boggling to think it nearly got lost forever, but then some treasure hunter dug it up, cleaned it off, and returned it to the real world. Anyhow, good for you to reach such a high level of face-value in a short time.

Congratulations on reaching that milestone Halfdime. That site sounds like it will be very productive for you. Please keep us posted.
