I walked the property back then and found some broken glass and what looked like an old baby food jar that holds the spoon on the inside of the bottle. I kept it for years and suddenly it disappearded (wifey chucked it). Anyway walking the dogs back there last Saturday and seen that the farmer had cut down some huge branches and knocked over a couple of trees. One of the trees had glass in the roots! Now the tree was in an iffy position (half on and half off my property) and I didn't want to get shot by a farmer so I didn't venture over. But the next day( Sunday) was very foggy so I snuck over in the cover of the fog and started digging in the roots and found an old porcelain Edison battery cap. Dim. 6" round. I didn't know what it was but it had writing on it so I brought in the house and washed the dirt off and looked it up on line. The cap reads " Edison Primary Battery" "Edison MFG. CO. Orange N.J.U.S.A. 1890 I thought it was pretty neat. image.webp Also found what appears to be a salt shaker. Dim. 2-1/2"T x 1-1/2" W with a screw top. Thanks for looking:happy3:

Neat, like the autograph! Went to the Edison estate in Florida and recommend it if you are ever in Ft Myers area.
