my garrett gta 1000 , m type pins has a short near the conector and the end is boogered up, wont stay tight. is this fixable with out getting a coil replacement, moneys real hard to get. what it does is either beeps real fast, or nothing unless you hold it at the sweet spot or it wont do anything, any help would be appreciated!

I would give Garrett customer service a call and see what they suggest.
Ya never know...maybe they'll replace it for you.

Troy, it sounds like the problem you have is an open or bad connection at the connector. You could take the coil to a tv repair shop and have them install (solder) a new connector.
