Stopped in to bank of america to dump $500 of halves (rolled) as I always do. Teller tells me they are now no longer allowed to take rolled coin in exchange for cash ON THE SPOT. "we're taking losses.......chucky cheese coins....etc." I could however deposit it and the funds would be available to me within 24 hours. I also asked her if this policy was company-wide, she said yes. So naturally I walked right on out of there since I had a fresh box waiting for me this afternoon, I couldn't wait no 24 hours. SO I went to another BofA 5 minutes away and they exchanged it no problem. Maybe that other teller just didn't want to deal with it..... FYI to all CRHers: Bank of America may be implementing this policy across the board soon. Maybe all branches haven't gotten the memo yet. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

I hear a lot about BOA and their fees and crap. I went in to one branch today, it's been months, I really only use them to pickup and thought about cancelling my account. I went in and picked up 4 rolls of halves, all clad. I held up a single Ike and asked for any. "We just sold 75 yesterday, had 'em for about a month".
I ended up depositing $10 into my min. acct, and found I had not made a deposit since July of 2011. Crazy, as I had incurred no fees in that amount of time, don't think I've ever paid a fee with BOA.

yea. that's why I only keep $10 in b of a so they can't fee me to death without me knowing it.

Just dumped $2000 at BoA today, no issues, coins for cash. No deposit, no wait. I call BS on the "company wide" statement.

ya....never heard a lick of this lol

branch managers and mean vault tellers will prey on you with certain "deflector shields"

BofA as a company is implementing no such thing for regular acount holders.......for business accounts that is and has been the standard fees they just usually don't enforce.

Bank Branches all vary. Some will act like they're speaking for everyone to get rid of you. It all comes down to the manager and what they want to do. Some bank branches are not friendly at all about dumping. Could be a new manager that's implementing their policy.

It is a ploy to get you to not dump there. Next time get it in writing.
