Balance of Sunday's finds- Buckles, wheat, knife, etc.

This is a continuation of my other posts:
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,71006.0.html
These are more things my son and I found at the farm yesterday.
*By the large rock formation pictured, I found the two buckles & clip. Still have pieces of leather attached. The round pieces are copper.
Any idea? Farm or feud item?

*Old pocket knife.

*Shotgun shell piece - "A.L. Howard New Haven, Ct. No.0"
Any idea of age?

* A strange looking horseshoe with a tab still on the bottom. Never saw one like this before. The other large horseshoe in the first picture is one I found last week. It still has the square nails in it.
The other shoehorn looking piece, I have no idea what it is?

*And last, but not least, 3 wheat pennies all found in one honey hole. Honey & wheat? Sounds like a cereal. ;D The dates are 1939 , 1937, and a 1925. The 1925 by the way is my oldest coin find so far. Yaba-daba-doo. Hopefully I find my way into the 1800's this year.
Thanks for looking.

Interesting relics, Miner. Like the shoehorn looking thingy. Did that animal have a gold tooth or something?

Nice finds

Kermit

Kermit,
Thanks for that site. I had it before, but didn't save it. I will this time.
According to that site, it looks like my shotgun head piece is from the 1880's!!! Ya-hoo!!!
They have:

"A.L Howard or Standard (A.L Howard Company)* 1887-1894 "

Thanks,
MM

MM,
That jack knife is my favorite. What's up with the skull? That thing is awesome!

Nice relics!

Mike,
I hope so. I would love to find a coin into the 1800's. The house was built in 1936, but I am finding things that go back at least 100 yrs before that. Every time I go out there, I find something different. 164 acres is a LOT to cover. I may try MDing in the dried up stream areas on the property next. I want to hit as much of the woods as I can before bug & snake season hits. ;)

MM - As always...awesome!

Do you think that horsehoe has some extra traction added on there?  ???  Great knife, buckles and rivets too!  ;)

Your putting us all to shame with your relics!  Them old coins are comming soon!

Thanks Jim.
At least I got away from the Chuckie Cheese tokens for awhile. ;D
I've been strapping on all the horseshoes I find to myself, so hopefully I have better luck finding coins. Man, these things are getting heavy!!! ;)

Re: Balance of Sunday's finds- Buckles, wheat, knife, etc.

Modernminer,

Looking at your recent finds I believe I know what that shard of pottery is. I believe it is a piece of a turpentine pot used to collect turpentine around the turn of the century (1900). I have a picture of a Herty Pot of which I found numerous shards of in our local woods. Charles Herty developed a system to collect sap for turpentine that used clay pots, some of which were white but most they were red clay. His system saved the life of the tree before which previous systems killed the tree.

Can't see it very well but if it is a little rough and not like kitchen china then it may be a piece of a turpentine pot.

I'm not sure, but I think you might have a fox skull there.

OK, it might not be from a fox. I just got an idea of its size from your other post.

Neat relics, MM! Those buckles are nice. Yes, the Shaw website for IDing headstamps is really a unique site...I use it all the time. Congrats on your "old" shotgun brass. :D
