Found this today. It is a ball button with what looks like a Lined Block I. Was wondering if it could be a military or is it just a civilian with a lined design?

Does the pattern go all the way around the button? If so, I am going with a civilian fashion button and maybe from a ladies dress.

I does not go all the way around. But I agree that it looks a little too long and wide for a Lined Block I. I does look like it has the top and bottom on the capital I. But that just may he the patina on it fooling my eyes.

I think it's a mid 19th century button for a higher end civilian dress or suit. Nice find.
